UN Prepares For Coming Solar Storms – NASA

Solar storms, although launched 93 million miles away, can damage satellites and knock out power grids here on Earth. This is due to our reliance on sensitive electronics and components.

Solar Energetic particles ripple through Earths upper atmosphere and the whole magnetic field starts to shake. This is a global issue and the UN is looking at taking action to help countries unprepared for space weather.
