NASA Mars Rover 360 Video – Lion King

A breathtaking panoramic view of the Martian landscape taken by the Nasa Mars Rover, ‘Opportunity’ in April 2004. Nasa called this video ‘Lion King’ and it consisted of 558 pictures taken over 2 days from the edge of the Eagle Crater in the Meridiani Plains.

Opportunity landed on Mars in January 2004 and has been exploring the Meridiani region. Its prime mission was only to last three months but years later Opportunity is still functioning and exploring whereas its sister ship ‘Spirit’ stopped communicating in 2010.
