Following on from my post last week on Gliese 581g, here are some more interesting facts about why this planet is considered suitable for life to exist. This is the only planet we have so far discovered that we would consider habitable. Scientists believe that either we have been extremely lucky to have done so in a such a relatively short time or that there are many more such worlds out there just waiting to be discovered.

The biggest barrier to humans colonising this planet is the fact that it is 20 light years away. Until the technology to breach these vast distances is developed,the real conquest of space is still just a dream.
