China Successfully Completes A Manual Docking

– “For You To Enjoy And Share With Friends” –

Chinese astronauts successfully manually docked their Shenzhou 9 spacecraft with Tiangong 1 orbiting module on June 24, 2012. Although automatic docking is the norm, it is always best to have a plan ‘B’ as you never know when a manual dock may be required. The three man crew also included China’s first female astronuat, Liu Yang.

China became the third country to send humans independently into space with Yang Liwei’s successful 2003 flight aboard Shenzhou 5. China has very ambitious space plans which include manned expeditions to the Moon and Mars.
