Atmosphere of Jupiter’s Moon Io Collapses in Full Eclipse

Using the Gemini North telescope in Hawaii and the Texas Echelon Cross Echelle Spectrograph (TEXES), scientists found out that the most active Jupiter’s moon, Io, has an atmosphere that is in a constant state of change. It collapses during the full eclipse of the Sun and repairs when exits Jupiter’s shadow.
