Virgo and LIGO Detectors Trace Ripples After Black Hole Collision

Advanced Virgo detector in Italy and LIGO detectors in the US, scientists have managed to trace the ripples that appear after black holes’ collision in a distant galaxy. Namely, two black holes from the galaxy that lies 1.8 billion years away from the Milky Way, have collided, causing gravitational shockwaves that have been observed for the first time.
