Jupiters Hotspots – NASA

Information on Jupiter’s bright Equatorial Zone swirls with dark patches, dubbed “hot spots” for their infrared glow.

These holes in the ammonia clouds at the top of the atmosphere allow a glimpse into Jupiter’s darker, hotter layers below.
