IC 1101, The Largest Galaxy in the Universe

The smallest galaxies can be 200 million light years across. The largest galaxies in the Universe are ellipticals and can contain as many as a trillion stars.

The largest galaxy we have ever seen is IC1101 and is located 1 billion light years away from us.
