The Causes of January’s Supernova

In the beginning of this year, on January 21, astronomers have found out the closest supernova in the Messier 82 galaxy. Gaining data from the Chandra X-ray Observatory, the astronomers easily detected that supernova SN2014J belongs to a class of explosions called “Type 1a” supernovas. It has been considered that the all supernovas from the Type 1a class include the detonation of a white dwarf planet. Telescopes across the world continue to gather and process data, which could provide the insights into possible causes of the explosion.
