How Do Comets Get Their Tails?

In order to find an answer to this question, scientists explored short-period comets, comets that come from the Kuiper Belt and need 20 to 200 years to finish their orbit around the Sun. These icy objects go through significant changes during their orbital period that cause them to radiate beautiful tails, made of space gas and dust.
